Sue Rae, the manager of ha ha bar & grill
located in Windsor Royal Shopping was very concious that a lot of stores locally were closing. Sue had been the manager of ha ha bar & grill for the past 18 months and realised that she didn't know many other local retailers, it was a case of go to work, work hard, keep your head down and go home. So in the spirit of trying to generate a bit more neighbourliness, Sue invited local retailers to a social evening as an opportunity to meet with each other and get to know each other a little better. The evening was a success.
Sue had forwarded the details to Sharon Tomkins at Kiereen design
to upload onto her client's database. They met to discuss the idea further, it was during this meeting that the idea of offering a platform to all business types and building a stronger business community in Windsor initiated and the concept of Windsor business community was created.
The next step was to invite local businesses to a pre-launch event to ask them what they wanted. We proposed our ideas in a questionnaire format and the feedback was overwhelming and extremely positive. From the results it was clear that the local businesses we asked felt that an event of this type was needed and that Windsor business community would be an ideal platform to do this.
Our aim is to support local businesses, but to do this we need to meet each other, understand what services and products are on offer and we hope that Windsor business community will be a relaxed and informal series of events for us all to do just that.
The launch of Windsor business community was held on 11th August 2009.
